Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides simple and easy to master methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her following her graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful learning experience for me. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic location to learn. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one time in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world as she frequently goes on trips across the USA in the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.

Sasha Allen, the openly-transgender female transgender singer who made it to the Live Shows of The Voice was a landmark when they got there. It was the first time within the 21 years of Voice competitions that Sasha was able to get past to the Battle Rounds. They are now the two of Newtown, Conn., is taking it a step further into the Top 8! Sasha revealed that he was transgender at the time they announced their auditions at the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com the decision was not a decision that was made in a hurry.
