Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She currently competes with the UFC Flyweight division. Valentina is her elder sister, and also a UFC participant. Antonina Shevchenko first began combat sports in the form of a Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous vote. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after getting bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, a Gold medal in 2011 along with the title of 2015 IFMA amateur Muay Thai world champion. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. In 2012, she took home her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she won the WMC World Championships. Antonina was the last time she fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in The Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win by a unanimous vote. Antonina shevchenko recorded her first professional MMA fight in 2002, against Anara bayanova in the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She took the title with a TKO during the 2nd round and then won her two subsequent bouts in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. It gave her an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko stopped fighting to focus on the sport of kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko beat Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She left in 2018 the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko wrestled Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her superior striking abilities during the clinch final round with knees placed on her body. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous victory, however she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi via the split decision. Antonina bounced right back after her loss and beat Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. The fight was awarded Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn as well as Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She fought Ariane Lipski, but also defeated Ariane. Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
